Physical Education🏀💪

During this term in our Physical Education class we have been participating in Fitness, Badminton and Rippa Rugby. At the end of this term I would give myself  a 4/5 for effort in our Physical Education because I always participated, I tried hard enough and I always listened. A challenge I had this term was consistently being in the mood to do Physical Education, this was challenging because I would always be tired when showing up to class or I would be in pain.

I’m proud that I lasted through another term of Physical Education because it is very draining doing P:E.Some people I have motivated throughout this term were my friends. How I motivated them was by encouraging them to strive and be better, this helped them try new things.Someone who has helped me to keep motivated in Physical Education this term has been my friend Tyrell who constantly pushed me to attempt new things and he always helped me when I needed it.

A growth mindset quote that really helps me keep focused is “Stop complaining about the results you didn’t get from the work you didn’t put in, the only way to become more successful than most people is to be willing to do things most people aren’t willing to do”. The reason I like this quote is because it says how people who don’t put in the work will never see results, to me that means even trying a little bit is more than others who don’t try at all.

Science Fair

For the past couple weeks we have been creating boards for our science fair, for the first part of the creating process(thinking of an idea) was not as easy as I thought it would be. After a long time of thinking we came up with an idea, the idea was to see if different liquids such as vinegar, food coloring /w water,  salt /w water, sugar /w water and regular water, would change the growing speed of plants. The vinegar killed the plant within a week, the food colored water did not change much but it still stayed alive, the salt water plant died, the sugar water didn’t die but it started to droop and the regular water grew normally. so our conclusion came to the point that normal water is the best liquid to grow plants.

The Holidays

Day 1 of holidays: during the first day of holiday  I woke up at 9:00am, to get ready for rugby(U14 Taniwha cup) only to be told I couldn’t play due to a head injury. even though I was crippled I still attended the ceremonies, after all of that was finished was our game. The game was very exciting, it was 40 minute halves. The game started off strong but we got a few scores tried against us, even though we were down points we kept trying which lead to a well earned win. Lastly we went home and ate dinner.

Day 2 of the holidays: For the start of day 2 I woke up around 7:00 because we needed to be in Kaikohe for rugby again, the days felt longer(due to me waking up at 7:00am and leaving at 5:00pm), but on a Monday with no school I was all right with it. first we had to do warmups which was running and lunges etc, everyone in the tournament would warmup together and then the different teams would split up to learn different aspects of the game. firstly we had breakdowns where a professional rugby player taught us what to do during a breakdown and how to improve whilst in one, next we had scrum’s. For scrums we had to get in groups and get in formation and push each other like a scrum.
